HINES ITALY
Mario Abbadessa began his career at Hines in 2010 and in 2015 he became Managing Director & Country Head of Hines Italy, becoming responsible for all Hines Group activity in Italy.
In March 2019, at the age of 35, he was appointed Senior Managing Director of Hines Italy by the Hines Global Board, becoming the youngest manager in the group to have accomplished this achievement on an international level.
Before joining Hines, he was an Investment Analyst for Generali Immobiliare Italia SGR after an initial experience at Tishman Speyer.
Mario Abbadessa holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Bocconi University and a Master of Science in Finance with electives in Real Estate Finance from the University of Amsterdam.
Since 2015 and under the guidance of Mario Abbadessa, Hines has completed real estate investments worth more than 3 billion euro in the old city centres of Milan and Florence, setting up a team of over 40 people.
The group’s biggest successes in Italy include acquisition and successive or upcoming regeneration of trophy assets, in Milan, into mixed-use retail and office properties, such as Cordusio 2.0, Orefici 13, The Liberty Tower, Spiga 26 and most recently, the acquisition currently undergoing completion of Torre Velasca, an icon building for Italy and for the city of Milan.
Hines Italy has also adopted a living segment strategy: student housing, in particular the two synergic projects Giovenale 15 and Ripamonti 35 in Milan, multifamily and senior housing, with MilanoSesto, the large-scale urban redevelopment project and development of 130,000 m² in the Ex Trotto area, in the San Siro district, both featuring a high residential quota with affordable rentals as well as a series of ancillary services catering for the public.
