Giulia Fini is a Tenure-track Assistant Professor in Urban Planning and Design at the University of Udine, Polytechnic Department of Engineering and Architecture. She teaches Urban Planning and Urban Design in the BSc in Civil and Environmental Engineering and the MSc in Architecture.
From 2010 to 2021 she taught and developed research activities at Politecnico di Milano, Department of Architecture and Urban studies (DAStU).
She is a member of the INU – Italian Institute of Urban Planning Executive Council for the Friuli Venezia Giulia region where she is responsible for the activities of the “Community for Territorial Regeneration”. Previously she was a component of the Lombardy one (2018-2022). She is part of the Scientific Committee of Urbanpromo and Editor of the online scientific journal Planum. The Journal of Urbanism (www.planum.net).
She works on the topics of territorial regeneration and resilient urban systems and has worked on the issues of specialized monofunctional urban areas, peri-urban spaces, regeneration of office districts, institutions, and scholars of Italian urban planning. She is currently involved in the University of Udine’s research group for the Coordination of the Territorial Government Plan (PGT) of Friuli Venezia Giulia region and in the inter-university national research project “iNEST – Interconnected Nord-Est Innovation Ecosystem”.
She combines research and teaching activities with urban planning and design experiences. She is regularly invited to national and international seminars and conferences, both of a scientific and informative nature.
