Cristina is an economist at the Bank of Italy in the Climate Change and Sustainability Hub; she previously worked in the Directorate for Economics, Statistics, and Research of the Bank of Italy.
She graduated in Finance from the University of Rome Tor Vergata in 2012. She was awarded the Roberto Einaudi Fellowship to continue her studies at the London School of Economics, where she obtained the MSc in Economics in 2014. She then received a Ph.D. in Economics from Bocconi University in 2019.
Her research interests lie at the intersection of behavioral economics, household finance, and climate finance. Her research aims at understanding how consumers form beliefs and how these affect their financial choices, building on insights from psychology. The next frontier of her research agenda focuses on the effects of climate change within this realm. In her policy work and most recent projects, she is also interested in understanding the challenges and the opportunities posed by climate change and the related policies to the financial system.
