Born in Rome in a family of entrepreneurs in 1969, Alessandro Caltagirone graduated in Economics from La Sapienza University of Rome in 1994. It is engaged in family businesses immediately assuming the role of Financial Controller in Vianini Thai Construction and Development. In 1996 he was appointed Director of Vianini Lavori, Caltagirone Group company operating in public works. In 2000 he was elected President of Vianini Industria.
Since 2001 he was member of Il Messaggero Board of Directors, and since 2006 he was member of Cementir Holding Board of Directors, a Caltagirone Group multinational company operating in the production of gray and white cement. He is also member of Caltagirone Holding board of directors. Alessandro Caltagirone is also a director of Acea S.p.A., the italian multiutilty leader in the water sector and operating in the sale of electricity and gas. He was a member of Unicredit spa Board of Directors since 2012 until 2018.
He was a member of the Building and Territory Commission of the National Homebuilders Association (ANCE) and Vice President of the Entrepreneurs Association of Rome with the delegation to internationalization.
He collaborated with the chair of “Professional Techniques” at the Luiss University in Rome and now he collaborates with the chair of “Business Administration” at the La Sapienza University of Rome.
